Wellspring’s 12th Annual Derby Preview Party

Wellspring's 12^th Annual Derby Preview Party is set for Tuesday, April 20, 2010 on Churchill Downs' Millionaires Row. This night of fast-paced fun has become a "signature event" of the Derby season. Attending will be a sell-out crowd of 500 community leaders, young professionals, doctors, business owners, and celebrities from the sports and horse racing worlds. This year's event is sure to be in the spotlight, as the three living Triple Crown winning jockeys – Jean Cruguet (Seattle Slew), Ron Turcotte (Secretariat) and Steve Cauthen (Affirmed) – have all accepted our invitation to attend! In addition, John Asher of Churchill Downs will be our Master of Ceremonies and Handicapper Extraordinaire Bill Doolittle will share his picks for Derby 136!

Wellspring, a 501(c) (3) charitable organization, provides hope and recovery to adults challenged with severe and persistent mental illness. All
proceeds from this annual event go to support Wellspring's crisis, transitional and supported housing sites. Since 1982 Wellspring has helped over 4,000 people regain a meaningful quality of life. They assist people with severe mental illness; persistent depression and chemical dependency avoid homelessness, reduce hospitalizations, return to work and live a life of hope in the community. Wellspring is the only agency in this region that provides independent housing coupled with psychiatric rehabilitative services to those challenged by mental illness.
